Job Title: Male SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Aberdare, South Wales
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Male SEN Teaching Assistant to support a learner with additional needs in a special school within the Aberdare area. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder, or challenging behaviour. This is a full-time role starting in April 2026, covering the remainder of the academic year.
The Male SEN Teaching Assistant will support and supervise a male learner, assisting with classroom activities, behaviour management, and helping the learner transition at the start and end of the school day. The role involves working closely with the class teacher to deliver lessons and facilitate engaging activities aligned with individual needs.
Experience required includes a minimum of three months working with children in educational settings, ideally in SEN environments. The candidate must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one, and have the right to work in the UK. References covering the last two years are essential, with no employment gaps.
