Full-time, 9am5pmAbout the RoleWe are working with a well-established financial services organisation based in Bury who are seeking a Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is a broad, hands-on role working closely with the Finance Director and supporting the wider finance function during a period of transition.The successful candidate will take responsibility for management accounts production, financial reporting, and supporting the development of financial controls and systems. You will also play a key role in managing and developing a small team of Accounts Assistants.This is a great opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant looking for a stable, structured role within a professional environment. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate accounting records including cash book, purchase ledger, fixed asset register, and Microsoft Dynamics postings Prepare monthly management accounts and MI reporting Complete bank reconciliations and support valuation data preparation Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes alongside the Finance Director Prepare annual statutory accounts in line with accounting standards Support preparation of regulatory returns including PRA, FCA, and HMRC submissions Maintain and improve financial systems, processes, and internal controls Work closely with senior stakeholders, including support on investment performance monitoring (in collaboration with the trainee actuary) Manage, develop, and support a small team of Accounts Assistants including training, objective setting, and performance management Requirements Minimum 5 years experience as a Management Accountant (essential) Ideally experience within financial services or a regulated environment Strong knowledge of management accounts, financial reporting, and accounting principles Experience using accounting systems, ideally including Microsoft Dynamics Strong Excel and analytical skills Experience supporting or managing a small finance team (or strong demonstrable mentoring capability) Part-qualified, qualified (ACCA/CIMA), or qualified by experience considered Strong organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines in a structured environment Additional Information Salary: £45,000 £55,000 depending on experience Hybrid not specified office-based role in Bury Standard working hours: 9am 5pm Interview process: Teams interview followed by an in-person meeting Immediate requirement due to recent vacancy within the team On-site parking available What Were Looking ForThis is a solid, hands-on Management Accountant role requiring someone who is comfortable taking ownership of the management accounts process while also supporting and developing junior team members.
