Location: Caledonia House, Glasgow Hours: 37.5 Per week (Office 4 days/ Work from home 1 day) Job Purpose Working within the Operational Finance team you will provide support to the Business Partner Manager supporting Retail operational teams as business partner and "go-to" colleague for this area, This role is the lead with our engineer and national specialist discipline field team, tracking P&L performance to budget, driving cost focus and efficiency opportunities. This will involve end to end review of cost base including headcount, fleet, tools, mobiles, equipment hire, temporary heating/cooling and other related costs. There will be opportunities for involvement in initiatives with full support to deliver continuous improvement processes within the area. This business partner role is involved in the preparation of management accounts and financial reporting providing analysis and insight of operational cost variances across this key area of spend. Key Accountabilities Business partnering with operations colleagues across direct headcount spend that includes on site and remote delivery teams Responsible to deliver month end tasks on time to agreed schedule and relevant deadlines are met Preparation of monthly management accounts for direct headcount P&L and Other Costs including budget tracking, reporting and insight analysis Prepare internal reporting on areas such as overtime trends, parts usage, expenses and mobile costs Driving quality of reporting on field cost including insight on exception reporting on cost outliers across engineer groups Work closely with operations to develop insight reporting packs for Regional and National teams Developing rate cards and supporting ad-hoc project costing for engineer resources Maintaining control over balance sheet accounts to audit standard Support Develop capabilities in weekly and monthly spend reporting, utilising Power BI (working with MI teams), producing operational information for decision making from large data sets Assistance with ad-hoc/project work as required by Business Partner Manager Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Previous experience in a finance environment required Ideally well progressed towards professional accountancy qualification (support provided) Strong Microsoft Excel skills Good IT skills (current systems Sun 6, Infor, Power BI ) Experience in a high-volume transaction environment.
