We facilitate cross-collaboration and growth across the underwater industry, which comprises offshore energy, aquaculture, defence, telecoms and subsea minerals.Led and governed by industry, GUH represents, promotes and supports all sectors of the underwater industry by providing companies with the market information, connections and access to specialist expertise that they need to grow.RoleThe management accountant will be responsible for day to day running of operational finance for the organisation as well as providing ongoing system and process improvements. In addition the role will provide support to the Finance Director (FD) on all reporting to key stakeholders. The management accountant will work with the operational teams to provide finance support to the delivery of all revenue streams including assisting with planning and budgeting where required.This is a part time role anticipated to require about 25-30 hours per week. Work patterns to cover these hours can be discussed with interested candidates.Key AccountabilitiesFinancial Processing and Accounts PreparationSupervise work of the Accounts AdministratorPreparation and posting of monthly prepayments and accruals journalsReview of nominal codes each month for accuracy and completenessPreparation of monthly Payroll Journal and payment of PAYE, NIC and Pension DeductionsPreparation of draft monthly reports for review and finalisation with Financial Director (FD) (profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow), including narrative for movementsUnderstanding and analysis of GUH product/service line profitabilityPreparation of monthly evidence reports to support government grant claimsPreparation of monthly VAT returnsMonthly review of the aged debtors and creditors listings, including credit control supportMonthly review of major balance sheet accounts including control account reconciliations.Maintenance of the fixed asset registerSupport input of sales and purchase ledger invoices and bank payments, including matching on Sage.Budgeting and ForecastingAssist in preparation of annual budgets working with operational teamsWork with FD to provide quarterly updates to forecasting for presentation at Finance CommitteeProvide financial support to project teams for individual project budgets.Systems and ProcessesAssist FD in the development and review of financial processes as organisation growsWork with the team to identify system improvements and efficiencies and provide support in the implementation of improvement plansDevelop and keep up to date finance processes and provide training for the wider team where required.Ad hoc requirementsLiaise with external auditorsAssist FD in preparation of quarterly board packs and finance committee packsAssist FD in preparation of annual review for AGMWork with Operations Manager to complete insurance renewal questionnaires and handle ad-hoc insurance queries.GUH core valuesGlobal Underwater Hub is a UK-wide organisation that represents the country\'s vibrant underwater industry, championing it at home and abroad, helping to accelerate the drive to net-zero, growing exports and creating high value sustainable jobs.Trustworthy:We are an open and welcoming organisation.Strategic:We are an intelligence led organisation providing stakeholders with access to information relevant to the underwater marketplace.Expertise:We are industry subject matter experts, providing specialist knowledge of all sectors of the underwater industry.Insightful:We ensure our stakeholders have access to relevant data and market analysis to allow them to harness opportunities in a growing global marketplace.Collaborative:We work across industry sectors to facilitate and support collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.All our activities are underpinned with a demonstrable focus on our own personal health and safety and the health and safety of our colleagues and stakeholders.
