The Business & Opportunity:
Unique opportunity for a Management Accountant to play a key role in supporting one of South Yorkshires state-of-the-art entertainment venues which hosts conferences, exhibitions, music concerts, comedy and sporting events. The business is also part of a Global venue powerhouse spanning 5 continents and owning more than 300 of the world’s most prestigious arenas.
Reporting to the Regional Finance Business Partner, you will make it your mission to deliver high-quality management information (MI) and financial support to the venue. Also working closely with the central finance function, you will produce accurate management accounts, from journal preparation through to monthly reporting packs. You will also lead the development of annual budgets and reforecasts, ensuring the venue’s financial performance is effectively managed and aligned with business goals.
Based predominantly in Sheffield City centre, you will also have the option and flexibility of hybrid working with 2 days per week from home.
Your Remit:
You will carry out an all-encompassing role which will include:
* Provide high-quality management information (MI) and detailed commercial financial analysis to support decision-making.
* Identify and implement process and system improvements to enhance controls and efficiency.
* Lead monthly financial reviews with Department Heads to discuss results, forecasts, and performance.
* Prepare annual budgets and regular reforecasts, challenging departments to meet financial targets.
* Contribute to business planning and evaluate the financial impact and ROI of key initiatives and projects.
Skills and competencies required:
* Part-Qualified or Qualified CIMA, ACCA or Qualified by Experience.
* Proven experience in management accounting, financial analysis, and business partnering within a commercial environment.
* Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
* Demonstrated ability to improve financial systems, controls, and reporting efficiency.
* Experience in presenting financial insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders or department heads.
* Strong Excel and financial systems skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive strategic decisions.
* Thrive in a fast paced, commercial environment, with the appropriate interpersonal skills to liaise with non-finance
* A passion for the events and entertainment industry would prove advantageous.
