The Finance and Planning Business Partnering Team – Secondary Care, Primary Care, Community Services, Vaccines and Screening – in the NHS England Finance and Planning Directorate is now recruiting for a Finance Manager. This role supports the NHS by working closely with government to agree NHS funding, deciding how to distribute that funding across NHS services, supporting innovative programmes that improve care and experience for patients, setting financial and performance priorities, reporting on annual NHS spend, exploring best use of money, and ensuring national resource utilisation improves healthcare outcomes and reduces inequality. Key Responsibilities
Report on financial progress in-year across administration, programme and SDF budgets. Plan future years’ spend, supporting the setting of detailed budgets. Produce financial modelling and support negotiations.
Qualifications and Experience
Professional accountancy qualification at Masters level such as CCAB/CIMA and extensive relevant post‑qualifying experience. Excellent finance business‑partnering techniques. Proven track record of producing timely and accurate reporting and forecasting. Strong financial analysis skills, including modelling and presentation techniques. Understanding of the clinical and operational priorities, risks and opportunities associated with NHS services.
