Managing Director – Mixed-Use Estate

London

We are seeking an experienced estate, portfolio or campus leader with a proven track record operating at executive level within complex, multi-asset environments.

The estate operates within a well-established ownership structure and requires integrated strategic and operational leadership across a diverse range of uses, stakeholders and service partners. The role sits within a significant London environment where consistency of performance, operational resilience and quality of service are central to long-term asset performance.

This appointment is comparable to executive leadership roles across major estates, campuses and mixed-use portfolios, where operational delivery, stakeholder engagement and commercial awareness must be balanced at scale.

The Role

  • The Managing Director will hold overall responsibility for the leadership, performance and strategic direction of the estate.
  • This is an executive leadership position, accountable for setting and delivering the estate’s operational and strategic priorities. Working closely with ownership and asset management, the role focuses on ensuring a safe, compliant and well-performing environment, while supporting wider commercial objectives.
  • The position requires strong leadership judgement, technical credibility and the ability to operate effectively within a complex, multi-stakeholder context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership across the estate, ensuring a safe, compliant and consistently well-managed environment.
  • Act as a senior interface with occupiers, partners, local authorities and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee managing agents and service partners, ensuring performance aligns with agreed standards and KPIs.
  • Translate asset management objectives into effective operational delivery.
  • Support the ongoing performance and positioning of the estate through high-quality service delivery.
  • Build and lead a high-performing leadership team, embedding clear accountability and professional standards.
  • Provide leadership through periods of change or operational evolution as required.
  • Support sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives aligned to broader asset strategy.

About You

You will bring:

  • Strong technical and operational expertise across estate management, facilities, compliance and risk.
  • A credible and effective leadership style, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
  • A commercial and strategic mindset, aligned to asset performance and long-term value.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and complex service partner models.
  • The ability to balance strategic priorities with operational delivery.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior estate leadership role offering scale, responsibility and long-term impact within a complex London environment.
