About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Managing Estimator to lead their growing pre-construction function. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing a team of six estimators and overseeing tendering activity across a diverse portfolio of public sector, new build, and refurbishment projects valued between £100k and £10m.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven estimator with strong management capability and experience delivering accurate, competitive tenders within a principal contracting environment.

Role Responsibilities

As the Managing Estimator, you will:

* Lead, mentor, and manage a team of six estimators

* Oversee tenders across public sector, new build, and refurbishment projects

* Ensure high-quality submissions for projects ranging from £100k to £10m

* Manage both single-stage and two-stage tender processes

* Work with JCT contracts

* Develop estimating strategies and improve processes where needed

Requirements

* Strong experience as a Managing Estimator or Senior Estimator in main contracting

* Proven track record across public sector and refurbishment/new build work

* Experience managing multiple estimators or leading a pre-construction team

* Competent in single-stage and two-stage tendering

* Strong knowledge of JCT contracts
