Managing Quantity Surveyor Civil Engineering / Water (NEC)£85,000 + Package | Hybrid WorkingAs part of continued growth, a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor is recruiting a Lead Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding Water Division on a recently awarded energy and utilities infrastructure project.This role offers an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor the opportunity to step into a senior leadership position with fast-track progression to Commercial Manager.The business is highly people-focused, placing strong emphasis on staff welfare, professional development, training, and long-term career progression. While this role sits within the Water Division, the wider group has a strong footprint across civil engineering, utilities, rail, aviation, and construction.The Role Lead Managing Quantity SurveyorReporting to the Regional Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the overall commercial performance of the project while leading and developing a high-performing commercial team.Key Responsibilities:Lead, mentor, and support the commercial team (training, coaching, appraisals, and development)Encourage collaboration between Commercial and Project Management teamsAgree, monitor, and review personal objectives across the commercial functionProvide contractual and commercial advice to the operations and delivery teamsManage, review, and expand the subcontractor supply chainRaise and manage new subcontracts, ensuring compliance with governance proceduresCarry out subcontract evaluations, assess applications for payment, and authorise paymentsWork closely with the Operational Lead to ensure accurate commercial reporting, identify risk, and maximise commercial opportunitiesExperience RequiredHNC / BSc in Quantity Surveying or related disciplineMinimum 6 years experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity SurveyorBackground in civil engineering, water, utilities, or infrastructure projectsStrong working knowledge of NEC forms of contractExperience gained with a Tier 1 main contractor or reputable subcontractorStable career history with proven leadership capabilitySalary & BenefitsSalary: £85,000 per annumAttractive benefits packageHybrid working arrangementLong-term career progression to Commercial ManagerOngoing professional development and trainingFor further details, please send your CV or contact one of our consultants at Intersect Global.Intersect Global is an equal opportunity employer.
