Who are we?Our client is a long-established electrical and mechanical engineering company based in Harlow, specialising in the repair, servicing and manufacture of industrial components including pumps, motors, gearboxes and precision machined parts. Operating a busy workshop environment, they provide a wide range of machining, fabrication and engineering services to industrial customers. Benefits: Company pension Free parking On-site parking Canteen Company events Employee discount Permanent full-time opportunity Stable long-term employment Duties of a Manual Lathe Machinist: Operating manual lathes to manufacture and repair precision components Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and CAD models Setting and adjusting machines to required specifications Machining components in a range of metal and plastic materials Carrying out milling, grinding and assembly duties where required Working to tight tolerances and quality standards Using measuring equipment including calipers and micrometers Supporting the repair of pumps, motors, gearboxes and related industrial equipment components Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment Supporting production deadlines and workshop efficiency What we would like from you: Previous experience operating manual lathes Strong understanding of machining principles and workshop practices Experience with milling, grinding or general mechanical assembly Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications Experience machining metal and plastic materials desirable Good knowledge of measuring equipment and tolerances Mechanical aptitude with tooling, fixtures and machine setup Reliable with strong attention to detail Ability to work independently or as part of a team If you are interested in this role, please apply below with your most recent CV.
