Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Turner. This role involves working within a manufacturing or engineering environment, focusing on fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of large mechanical components. The successful candidate will utilise a range of technical skills to contribute to the production of high-quality products, ensuring safety and efficiency at all times. Duties
* Operate and programme programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to control machinery and processes
* Fabricate components using milling, and other machining techniques
* Handle materials safely within the workshop environment, including materials handling and tooling management
* Perform assembly of mechanical parts, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications
* Utilise hand tools and power tools for fabrication, assembly, and maintenance tasks
* Conduct basic mathematical calculations to determine measurements, tolerances, and material requirements
* Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues
* Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment at all times
Skills
* Proven experience in fabrication, milling, and assembly processes
* Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their application in manufacturing settings
* Mechanical knowledge related to materials handling, tooling, and equipment maintenance
* Ability to operate hand tools effectively and safely
* Good organisational skills with attention to detail in assembly and fabrication tasks
* Basic math skills for measurements and calculations required during production processes
* Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential; a proactive attitude towards learning is essential
* Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently
