Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer\nLocation: Birmingham\nEmployment: Permanent\nSalary: Competitive\n\nHydraForce, operating from our purpose-built facility in Birmingham, UK, is a global designer and manufacturer of motion control systems and the world’s leading manufacturer of hydraulic cartridge valves and custom hydraulic integrated circuits, as well as electronic controls for a variety of off-highway industries\n\nJob Description for Manufacturing Engineer:\n\n * To provide full engineering and technical support across the manufacturing department to ensure that production operating levels are achieved and maintained.\n\n * Manage internal projects within agreed timeframes and to budget, to achieve agreed objectives and meet business needs.\n\n * Produce and maintain relevant internal documentation to company standards, ensuring they are clear, concise and understandable for all users.\n\n * Generate, develop and update Process Control Plans (PCPs), Visual Control Plans (VCPs), Test Control Plans (TCPs), FMEAs and SOP’s.\n\n * Design and develop lean manufacturing cells, through analysis of process needs to include process assembly and test equipment. Work with Manufacturing Services to ensure factory layouts are kept up-to-date and meet business requirements as practices change and evolve.\n\n * Design and develop assembly and testing fixtures to meet the departmental needs, liaising with the Manufacturing Services staff when required to arrange fabrication.\n\n * Identify and lead cost reduction and process efficiency improvement activities, including provision of relevant documentation relating to cost savings and proposed efficiencies.\n\n * Support prototype builds ensuring that all special requirements are met within agreed timescales.\n\n * Support NPI activities\n\n * Identify, justify and implement improvement opportunities.\n\n * Use statistical tools to validate new processes or equipment or changes to existing processes or equipment.\n\n * Specify and purchase facilities to aid production, liaising with relevant internal departments where necessary obtaining best value to meet production needs.\n\nQualifications for Manufacturing Engineer:\n\n * HNC/HND or Degree level in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering\n\n * Proven experience of working in a fast paced, manufacturing environment.\n\n * Experienced in managing projects, delivering on time and within budget.\n\n * Excellent working knowledge of 3D CAD systems – Creo advantageous\n\n * Working knowledge of hydraulics and/or pneumatics advantageous\n\n * Thorough understanding and experience in application of lean principles, including Kaizen, 5s and Kanban.\n\n * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills\n\n * Computer literate, with sound knowledge of Microsoft packages\n\n * Familiar with ISO 9001, knowledge of ISO 14001 would be advantageous.\n\n * CAD skills, AutoCAD or Pro-E/Creo experience.\n\nInterviews available immediately for most suitable Manufacturing Engineer candidates
