A key part of the role is ensuring that all preparations are in place so new products, equipment, and projects can be introduced into production safely, efficiently, and with robust quality controls.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Readiness & Technologies Leader, the Lead Manufacturing Readiness Engineer plays a key role in developing and improving manufacturing processes for a new product within a purpose-built facility.
This role focuses on delivering robust planning to ensure process capability, safety, quality, delivery, cost, and plant layout effectiveness.
The successful candidate will lead have a strong background in CNC machining, support facility and equipment planning, and lead process planning to APQP standard.
What you will be doing as part of our team Scoping capital equipment from proposal and cost-benefit analysis through to installation, commissioning, and handover.
Designing, developing, and optimising machining processes to ensure the highest quality and repeatability.
Supporting the development of new factory layouts, workflow strategies, and equipment placement to maximise space utilisation, material flow, safety, and operational efficiency.
Analysing production workflows, capacity, and process constraints to identify and implement practical improvement opportunities.
Leading the completion of PFMEAs to produce process controls, quality assurance measures, and manufacturing standards to support reliable and consistent output.
Leading initiatives and presenting proposals to senior leaders to secure approval and funding for manufacturing improvements and investments.
Supervising installation activities, contractor support, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment and systems.
Mentoring and supporting less experienced engineers, helping to build technical capability and a strong team culture within MRT.
Working cross-functionally as part of our client's global team to ensure our customers, both external and internal, are satisfied with their experience of working with us.
Who we are looking for An experienced manufacturing or industrial engineer with strong leadership abilities and a track record of delivering process improvements within a production environment.
An engineer with strong CAD design skills (preferably in Creo), able to develop tooling concepts and take them through to detailed design.
Demonstrable experience in CNC machining, manufacturing process development, factory layout planning, equipment implementation, or production readiness.
Strong understanding of process optimisation, workflow design, quality control, and manufacturing best practices.
Ability to set and achieve ambitious goals, with a proactive and solution-focused approach to challenges.
Excellent organisational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills, with a structured and detail-oriented working style.
Strong computer literacy, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and engineering/design tools.
The ability to work effectively as part of a diverse, multidisciplinary project team while managing multiple priorities and delivering to EHS, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation, influencing, and stakeholder engagement.
Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering challenges, and practical implementation methods.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical documentation. xbpsjku
