Job Description
Manufacturing Process Engineer
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up to £45k DOE
Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a long-standing manufacturing organisation in Sheffield that is investing in process development, optimisation and modernisation.
As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping continuous improvement activity, leading projects and supporting site-wide performance enhancements.

Summary of Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead and support improvement projects across a range of manufacturing processes on site
• Manage individual projects including cost saving, H&S and business critical workstreams, ensuring realistic timeframes and regular updates
• Contribute to wider group projects and support team KPIs
• Work alongside operators and area leads to turn improvement suggestions into structured plans and actions
• Support production teams with lean tools including 5S, Kaizen, GEMBA and DMAIC
• Carry out justification and feasibility studies including ROI calculations, CAPEX submissions and cross-functional review
• Support the introduction of new products, new processes and emerging manufacturing techniques
• Optimise existing processes to reduce cost and improve performance, liaising with technical and quality teams
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and apply modern manufacturing methods to strengthen performance and capability
• Capture and analyse production data to highlight improvement opportunities
• Present regular project updates to all levels of management, taking ownership of overdue actions
• Work cross-functionally to ensure projects deliver full value and measurable benefits
• Support quality investigations, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
• Proactively identify and improve health and safety standards across site
• Carry out any reasonable tasks requested by the line manager
Qualifications and Skills we are looking to see for the role:
• Experience delivering project or process implementation, either leading or as part of a project team
• Ability to evaluate processes, identify improvement opportunities and carry actions through to completion
• Exposure to a variety of manufacturing techniques and material processing
• Strong decision making skills with the confidence to drive performance improvements
• Solid problem solving skills, both individually and as part of a team
• High level of ownership, working to a SMART framework
• Experience writing justifications for equipment or process implementation
• Basic understanding of quality functions including root cause and corrective actions
• Strong health and safety awareness with a proactive mindset
• Excellent attention to detail
• Practical approach to spotting and delivering continuous improvement
• Ability to handle pressure and work to time critical tasks
• Team player with excellent organisational skills
Desirable
• Understanding of forging procedures
• Confident communicator with good liaison skills
• Basic knowledge of CI and Lean tools (PFMEA, VSM, DMAIC, Lean/6 Sigma etc.)
• Ability to use 2D and 3D CAD packages
