Manufacturing Technician – Medical Devices, Southampton, £30,000 – £35,000
* Manufacturing Technician or Production Technician opportunity within a fast-growing medical device company developing innovative rapid diagnostic technology for hospital laboratories.
* Salary guide £30,000 – £35,000 depending on experience.
* Some flexibility with working hours, 27 days holiday (increasing by 1 day per year), and the opportunity to join a well-funded MedTech startup environment.
You will play a key role within the manufacturing team, building precision diagnostic instruments and microfluidic devices used in cutting-edge medical technology. This is a highly hands-on role working with small, intricate components in a clean, controlled environment, supporting both production and ongoing product development.
This Manufacturing Technician job will suit:
* A Manufacturing Technician, Production Technician, Assembly Technician or Laboratory Technician with experience working on small, precise components or instruments.
* Candidates with strong hands-on skills and excellent attention to detail, comfortable working under a microscope or with delicate assemblies.
* Individuals with experience in regulated environments such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, cleanroom, laboratory or similar industries.
* Technicians familiar with following structured work instructions, SOPs and maintaining accurate documentation.
* Candidates with experience or exposure to wiring, soldering, crimping or basic electromechanical assembly (desirable but not essential).
This Manufacturing Technician job will involve:
* Manufacturing microfluidic chips and assembling diagnostic instruments in line with detailed work instructions.
* Performing precise, small-scale assembly tasks, sometimes under magnification.
* Maintaining accurate manufacturing records in line with quality and regulatory standards.
* Supporting product development by building prototype devices and carrying out testing activities.
* Assisting with writing and improving work instructions, processes and documentation.
* Working within a regulated quality environment (ISO 13485), supporting continuous improvement and quality activities.
This Manufacturing Technician job is based in Southampton and is commutable from Fareham, Portsmouth, Eastleigh, Hedge End, Winchester and surrounding areas.
