About Us:
Seaking Electrical Ltd is a leading electrical engineering company delivering high-quality marine and industrial electrical systems across the UK. Our teams are currently supporting major shipbuilding and industrial projects, including new-build vessel electrical installations, testing, and commissioning activities.
The Opportunity:
We are expanding our team in Port Glasgow and have a range of exciting opportunities for skilled Electricians and Electrical Technicians to join us. Whether your background is in marine, shipyard, or industrial environments, we have roles suited to your experience — from installation through to testing, setting to work, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical installation and containment works (power, lighting, control, and data systems)
Cable glanding, termination, and testing activities
Setting to work and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment
Fault-finding and troubleshooting during system integration and trials
Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
Ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and technical standards
Working collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and commissioning teams
Essential Skills & Experience:
Time-served electrician with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
Proven experience in marine, shipyard, or industrial electrical work
Competent in installation, testing, and fault-finding
Ability to interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
Strong awareness of electrical safety and compliance with regulations
Able to work independently or as part of a team in a busy shipyard or industrial environment
Desirable:
ECS or JIB Gold Card
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
2391 Testing & Inspection or equivalent
Experience with control systems, automation, or switchboard testing
Familiarity with commissioning procedures and documentation
CompEx certification (advantageous but not essential)
