Job Description
Founded in 1987, Lochain Patrick, a division of Burns & Wilcox Global solutions, is a highly respected, expert and experienced leading firm of insurance brokers. From our base, close to Lloyd’s in the City of London, we operate globally in a retail and wholesale capacity in our chosen specialisms of marine, energy and related insurances.
To provide technical support and documentation to brokers and clients in relation to all classes of marine insurance.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
Production of brokers documentation in accordance with client requirements and broker instruction, under the supervision of the Senior Technician and Broker Support Manager;
Production of client documentation in accordance with terms agreed with the Underwriter under the supervision of the Senior Technician and Broker Support Manager;
To handle client enquiries by telephone, correspondence or email in a timely fashion;
Maintain proper files and records;
To obtain a good working knowledge of the companies computer systems;
To take responsibility for the day to day management of work loads and the meeting of deadlines;
To comply at all times with the companies’ policies and procedures;
To understand and implement market initiatives;
To provide assistance to other departments when necessary (e.g. Accounts and Claims).
In addition, the jobholder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the Broking Support Manager, as required by the needs of the business.
Knowledge and Experience Required
Developing knowledge of marine insurance and the London and overseas markets.
An understanding of FCA regulations and guidelines, as applied to the type of client being dealt with.
Skills and Competencies Required
Business:
Basic knowledge of Marine insurance and the London markets.
An understanding of FCA regulations and guidelines, as appropriate.
Customer/Supplier relationship and Selling:
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) that are effective and meet business needs.
Other:
Ability to continually develop knowledge of company procedures.
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
