Chief Financial and Operations Officer

My client is an innovative Multi‑Academy trust based in Southeast London looking now to make the key appointment of a new Chief Financial and Operations Officer, with the skills and experience to ensure continued financial sustainability and development of the Trust.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance, HR, Facilities and IT teams, bringing in‑depth knowledge and actively contributing to the development of efficient finance systems and processes, with robust but pragmatic internal controls.
  • Be a leading voice on a variety of initiatives and projects, ensuring pupils have the very best access to facilities, products and services through keen management of spend and an ambitious approach to revenue generation.
  • Influence the Trust’s strategic decision making to ensure best value.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant with strong business acumen and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in delivering a high‑quality service in an Academy or MAT setting is hugely advantageous; applications from senior finance professionals from the charity or local authority setting are also welcomed.
  • Robust leadership traits and strong stakeholder management skills are essential.
  • Looking to excel in an inspiring and changing environment, with a natural interest in the education sector.
