This is a fantastic opportunity for a Materials Engineer or Mechanical Engineer or Composites Engineer to join a forward-thinking business where innovation is valued, your ideas are heard, and your career can grow alongside the company.

Your background as a Materials Engineer:

• Your background could be very varied the role would suit a candidate with a materials engineering, materials science, composites engineering, or mechanical engineering background interested in how products and materials are developed, tested, and manufactured.
• You will hold a relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) in materials engineering, materials science, composites engineering, mechanical engineering, or a similar engineering / science-based discipline.
• Any previous industry experience focused on the testing, development, performance, or manufacturing of materials, composites, polymers, ceramics or mechanical products would be advantageous.
• An interest in working on the development of products for automotive, specialist vehicles, aerospace, defence, marine or similar applications would be beneficial.
• You must be eligible for UK Defence Security Clearance for this role.

Materials Engineer responsibilities:

• You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of product development and manufacturing projects ensuring that materials used meet the highest demands required by their customers operating within a wide variety of advanced engineering sectors.
• Working closely with R&D teams to ensure the smooth integration of new products into the manufacturing process.
• Work closely with production and manufacturing teams to investigate and uncover the root causes of material failures and implement effective solutions.
• Undertake technical initiatives such as material dual sourcing, material compliance and material/parts verification.
• Evaluate industry trends and emerging technologies in manufacturing to drive innovation.
