Materials Lab Technician 24 month Fixed Term Contract Based in Ampthill Offering up to £35,000

Do you have experience in Metrology/Chemical testing? Do you have experience working to COSHH standards? Do you have experience with Rockwell and Vickers hardness testing?

As the Materials Lab Technician, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. Due to the nature of what you will be working on, you will be required to obtain high level MOD security clearance.

You will be involved in:

Operate and maintain analytical instruments. Perform baseline chemical, mechanical, and thermal tests and document results Inspect product samples visually, record findings (defects, dimensional tolerances) Perform basic calculations (concentrations, % deviation, etc.) and compile data Stock, distribute, and rotate consumables and equipment Set up, dismantle, and clean apparatus; wash and store glassware Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard‑aware lab environment Perform and log calibration checks on instruments Identify and raise non‑conformances, facilitating investigations and corrective actions Liaise with stakeholders to ...
