Maths Teacher - Secondary School - Staffordshire

Simply Education is seeking a committed and knowledgeable Maths Teacher to work across a range of welcoming and supportive secondary schools in Staffordshire. Opportunities are available for daily supply, short‑term cover and long‑term teaching positions depending on your preference and availability.

This role is ideal for both experienced Maths Teachers and ECTs who can deliver engaging Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the ability to support pupils preparing for GCSE examinations.

Location & School Information

Secondary schools across Staffordshire
Supportive Maths departments with strong curriculum leadership
Mix of full-class teaching, interventions and small group support
Ofsted ratings vary across partner schools
Strong focus on raising attainment in Mathematics
Mixed KS3-KS4 groups
GCSE and Functional Skills pathways depending on school
Roles available due to growth, maternity cover and staff progression

Start Date & Contract Details

Immediate, April or September start dates available
Daily supply, short‑term and long‑term contracts
Temp‑to‑perm opportunities
Full-time and part-time roles considered
Contract length dependent on school requirements

Hours & Working Pattern

Monday to Friday
Typically 8:15am-3:30pm
Part‑time Maths teaching options available

Salary & Pay

£150-£200 per day
PAYE available
Pay reflects experience and responsibility

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality Maths lessons aligned with the national curriculum
Teach across KS3 and KS4
Prepare students for GCSE Maths examinations
Mark and assess student work in line with school policies (long‑term roles)
Maintain behaviour expectations and classroom routine
Support intervention groups and targeted learning
Contribute to curriculum planning where required
Follow safeguarding procedures at all times

Requirements & Qualifications

QTS, QTLS or equivalent UK teaching qualification
Recent experience teaching Maths at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge
Effective behaviour management
Flexible, reliable and committed approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
