Maths Specialist Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Maths Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and ambitious secondary school in Tower Hamlets.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in mathematics who is passionate about helping young people succeed. You will work closely with the Maths department to support teaching and learning across KS3 and KS4, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.

Key Responsibilities

Support students in Maths lessons, working with individuals and small groups

Deliver targeted interventions to help close gaps in learning

Support pupils with SEND and those who require additional academic support

Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation

Help to promote positive behaviour, confidence, and engagement in Maths

We Are Looking For Someone Who

Has strong Maths knowledge (minimum GCSE Maths at grade 6/B; A-level or degree desirable)

Is confident supporting secondary-aged students

Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Is patient, encouraging, and committed to raising attainment

Has experience working in a school or with young people (desirable, not essential)
