Quantity Surveyor - M&E (Mechanical & Electrical)\n\nNewcastle (Office & Site Based Across the North East)\n£65,000 + Company Car + Benefits\n\nA growing and reputable building services contractor is looking to recruit an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Newcastle.\n\nThe business delivers mechanical and electrical installations on a wide range of projects across the North East, including commercial, education, healthcare, residential, and industrial developments. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable company with a strong pipeline of secured work and clear progression opportunities.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial delivery of mechanical and electrical packages, ensuring strong cost control and contractual compliance from project start through to final account.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nCommercial management of mechanical and electrical works on live projects\n\nProcurement of subcontractors and specialist suppliers\n\nPreparing valuations, variations, and final accounts\n\nCost reporting, forecasting, and budget tracking\n\nAssisting with contract administration under NEC, JCT, or bespoke contracts\n\nIdentifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities\n\nWorking closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams\n\nSupporting the Senior QS / Commercial Manager with overall project performance\n\nBuilding strong relationships with clients and the supply chain\n\nAbout You\n\nYou will be a motivated and commercially aware Quantity Surveyor with experience in building services or M&E projects.\n\nEssential:\n\nExperience as a Quantity Surveyor within M&E / building services\n\nUnderstanding of mechanical and electrical installations and construction processes\n\nExperience managing subcontract packages and project cost control\n\nGood knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts\n\nStrong numerical, negotiation, and communication skills\n\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines\n\nFull UK driving licence\n\nDesirable:\n\nDegree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management\n\nExperience working on medium to large-scale construction projects\n\nWorking towards professional accreditation (RICS or similar)\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\n£65,000 salary\n\nCompany car or car allowance\n\nPension scheme\n\nIf you're an M&E Quantity Surveyor looking for your next move in the Newcastle area, this is a great opportunity to join a respected contractor with long-term prospects.\n\nIf interested in further details please contact John Baker or Katherine Oxlade\n\n--- Fusion People are committed to promoting equal opportunities to people regardless of , gender, , belief, race, sexuality or .
