Senior Quantity Surveyor - M&E (Mechanical & Electrical)\n\nNewcastle (Office & Site Based)\n£75,000 + Company Car + Benefits\n\nA well-established and growing building services contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (M&E) to support the commercial delivery of major mechanical and electrical projects across the North East.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking business delivering complex schemes across sectors such as commercial, healthcare, education, residential, and industrial. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are commercially successful from pre-construction through to final account.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for M&E packages on one or more projects, working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nManaging the commercial aspects of mechanical and electrical packages\n\nProcurement of subcontractors and specialist suppliers\n\nPreparing and managing valuations, variations, and final accounts\n\nCost reporting, forecasting, and budget control\n\nContract administration under NEC, JCT, or bespoke contracts\n\nIdentifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities\n\nSupporting and mentoring junior commercial team members\n\nLiaising with clients and the wider project team to ensure smooth commercial delivery\n\nAbout You\n\nYou will be a commercially aware Quantity Surveyor with strong experience in building services or M&E environments.\n\nEssential:\n\nProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within M&E / building services\n\nStrong understanding of mechanical and electrical installations\n\nExperience managing subcontract packages and cost control on construction projects\n\nGood working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT forms of contract\n\nStrong negotiation and communication skills\n\nAbility to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines\n\nFull UK driving licence\n\nDesirable:\n\nDegree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management\n\nExperience working on large or complex M&E projects\n\nProfessional membership (RICS or similar) or working towards chartership\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\n£75,000 salary\n\nCompany car or car allowance\n\nPension scheme\n\nIf you're an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor looking to step into a senior role with more responsibility and long-term progression, this is an excellent opportunity in the Newcastle area.\n\nIf interested in further details please contact John Baker or Katherine Oxlade\n\n--- Fusion People are committed to promoting equal opportunities to people regardless of , gender, , belief, race, sexuality or disability.
