Job Title: Mechanical Contracts Manager
Location: Plymouth or Exeter (primary base)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to take commercial and contractual responsibility for the delivery of large-scale MEP installation projects. Based primarily in Plymouth or Exeter, the successful candidate will manage mechanical packages from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with contractual requirements.
This role would suit a commercially astute professional with a strong background in mechanical building services and major project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage mechanical contracts across large, complex MEP installation projects
* Oversee contractual, commercial, and financial performance of projects
* Lead contract administration, variations, valuations, and final accounts
* Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, specifications, and company procedures
* Manage subcontractor procurement, performance, and payment
* Identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks
* Work closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and site teams
* Prepare and manage cost forecasts, budgets, and cash flow
* Lead negotiations with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
* Ensure high standards of health & safety, quality, and programme delivery
Requirements
* Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management, or a related discipline
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Contracts Manager or Senior Mechanical Project Manager
* Strong background delivering large MEP / building services installation projects
* Excellent understanding of mechanical systems within commercial or industrial buildings
* Sound contractual and commercial knowledge (JCT / NEC experience advantageous)
* Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Full UK driving licence
