Hours of work:

• 37.5 hrs per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
• Ipswich Head Office / Hybrid – typically 2 days in the office including Tuesday

Role Purpose:

Support Space Engineering Services / Orwell Design Associates in project design work for retail, commercial, and industrial clients within the building services team as a Mechanical Design Engineer.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting in producing high-quality design packages for clients
• Design specification and coordination of mechanical building services, including HVAC and Plumbing
• Ensuring compliance with best practices and regulations
• Plant selection and sizing
• Pipework and ductwork sizing per latest regulations
• Using thermal analysis software for heat calculations
• Participating in meetings and site surveys

Candidate Requirements:

• HNC in Building Services or related qualification
• Self-reliant, motivated, and enthusiastic
• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and other relevant software
• Willing to travel and work flexible hours
• Strong organizational skills and proactive approach
