Mechanical Design Engineer (Hydraulic/Tooling)

Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer from a hydraulic / press tool background, looking for a highly autonomous role where you'll own projects from concept to completion in a precision engineering environment, with the option to work from home on Fridays and a company bonus?

\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

This UK-based precision engineering company specialises in the design and manufacture of high-quality pressings, tooling, and fabricated components, supplying into sectors such as automotive, construction, and general manufacturing. With around 100 years of industry experience, the business has built a strong reputation for technical expertise, reliability, and delivering cost-effective, high-performance solutions to a wide range of customers across the UK.

In this role you will design and develop press tooling from concept through to production, managing projects, creating detailed CAD models and liaising closely with the toolroom, production and external suppliers. You will take ownership of both new and existing tooling, supporting manufacturing, driving improvements and ensuring projects are delivered on time. Based in Redditch.

This role would suit a Mechanical Design Engineer or Tooling Design Engineer from a manufacturing background, looking for a highly autonomous position where they can take full ownership of projects within a well-established, reputable engineering business with a long-standing industry presence.

The Role:

\n

\n Design and develop press tooling from concept through to production \n

Create detailed 2D/3D CAD models and engineering drawings \n

Manage tooling projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget \n

Liaise with toolroom, production, quality teams and external suppliers \n

Maintain documentation and support QMS/EMS requirements \n

Monday - Friday \n

The Person:

\n

\n Mechanical Design Engineer or similar from a manufacturing background \n

Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks or AutoCAD) \n

Strong understanding of engineering drawings and \n

Commutable to Redditch \n

\n
