Job Description
Mechanical Design Engineer
Salary: £40,000–£50,000
Location: Milton Keynes
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established and innovative engineering business developing advanced electro-mechanical and robotic systems for use in demanding environments. The company designs and delivers complex equipment from initial concept through to full-scale manufacture and deployment.
This is a fantastic role for an engineer looking to make a real impact, with the chance to work on technically challenging R&D projects and contribute to the design of robust, high-performance mechanical systems. You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team and play a key role in taking designs from concept through detailed design, testing, and manufacture.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop mechanical systems and components Take concepts through detailed design and manufacture 3D CAD design, including assemblies, components, and detailed drawings Materials selection and structural design for demanding operating environments Build, assemble, and test prototypes Support manufacturing with technical input, troubleshooting, and design refinement
Skills & Experience Required:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) Proven experience in mechanical design and development of complex products Experience working on robotic or automated machinery Strong 3D CAD skills Good understanding of materials, tolerances, and manufacturing techniques Experience with machining, fabrication, or other production processes Hands-on engineering skills, including prototyping, assembly, and fault finding
