If you're a Mechanical Design Engineer who thrives on precision, performance and real-world application, this is an opportunity to join a highly specialised engineering business in Worcester. Your designs directly power advanced systems used in demanding environments worldwide. This isn't a desk-only design role, you'll see your concepts move from initial idea through detailed modelling, build, test and commissioning. You'll be working on-site five days a week at the Worcester facility, collaborating closely with production and commissioning teams, working 37 hours per week with an early finish on Friday's. The salary is around £40,000, with flexibility for someone who brings the right depth of rotating machinery expertise.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

Designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies for dynamometers, systems and associated products
Translating customer requirements into practical, cost-effective and manufacturable design solutions
Contributing to product testing and validation to ensure performance, safety and regulatory compliance
Producing and maintaining technical documentation including drawings, specifications, manuals and test procedures
Creating and managing components and BOM's within Visibility
Refining existing product designs to improve performance, durability and manufacturability
Troubleshooting and solving component and system faults across the product life-cycle
Designing tailored mechanical solutions to meet specific customer applications
Provide technical input to customer proposals and product capabilities.
Collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, production and field service teams
Keeping up to date with new technologies, materials and engineering best practice

Qualifications and Experience needed for this Mechanical Design Engineer role:

HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience designing water brake dynamometers or rotating components.
Strong, current proficiency in SolidWorks.
Experience with PLM systems, FEA and CFD
Knowledge of analysis tools such as ANSYS or similar
Experience with MATLAB, Excel, LabVIEW or equivalent tools
Strong grounding in mechanics, thermodynamics, kinematics and materials science
Clear technical communication and strong documentation skills
A thorough, organised, inquisitive and self-driven approach to engineering

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am - 4.30pm and Fridays 8am - 12.45pm.
