Our client, a well-established engineering company, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to support ongoing projects. The successful candidate will bring proven design experience, strong CAD capability, and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (dependent on experience)

Monday to Friday on-site

Mechanical Design Engineer (Permanent)

Job Description

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks

• Produce detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings

• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure design for manufacturability

• Ensure designs meet performance, quality, and cost requirements

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production and project engineering

• Support design reviews, modifications, and continuous improvement activities

• Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in line with company standards

• Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders as required

Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks

• Background in manufacturing or production environments

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles

• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

• Good communication and problem-solving skills
