With a strong pipeline of repeat clients, increasing project demand, and long-term development plans, they are now looking to bring in a Mechanical Design Manager who can play a pivotal role in their next phase of expansion.

You’ll join at the perfect time, early enough to influence how the design department evolves, but with the security of a business that already delivers a large volume of projects.

The Projects

You’ll lead mechanical design across a range of commercial D&B fit‑out schemes, typically valued between:

-        £100k – £1.5m

Projects include:

-        Cat A office refurbishments

-        Cat B tenant fit outs

-        Light commercial mechanical upgrades

-        Fast‑track D&B packages

-        High‑spec HVAC solutions

The Role: Mechanical Design Manager

You will:

-        Lead all mechanical design activity from concept to delivery

-        Oversee technical output, ensuring high-quality and compliant designs

-        Work closely with project managers, estimators, and clients

-        Manage and mentor future design team members as the business continues to scale

-        Influence the growth and structure of the design function

-        Support tendering, value engineering, and D&B design responsibilities

About You

You should have:

-        Strong experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or Manager within Building Services

-        A background in commercial fit‑out (Cat A/Cat B) or similar environments

-        Hands‑on D&B experience with HVAC and mechanical systems

-        Confidence working directly with clients and internal teams

-        A desire to lead, mentor, and influence a growing business
