Mechanical Engineer – Large Residential Project
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to deliver a high-profile large-scale residential development in London. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating all mechanical services throughout the project, from design through to completion, ensuring compliance with regulations, client requirements, and project timelines.
This role requires a technically strong, commercially aware professional with proven experience delivering complex residential building services projects.
Key Responsibilities

Manage mechanical services for a high-profile residential development
*
Take full ownership of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and sustainable building services from design coordination through to handover
*
Liaise directly with architects, structural engineers, main contractors, and other stakeholders
*
Plan, programme, and oversee project delivery to meet key milestones
*
Support project budgets, cost control, and valuations related to mechanical systems
*
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams
*
Review drawings, specifications, technical submissions, and design information
*
Manage RFIs, variations, and change control procedures
*
Oversee procurement of mechanical plant, equipment, and materials
*
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and health & safety
*
Ensure compliance with UK building regulations, mechanical standards, and company procedures
*
Support testing, commissioning, and final handover of mechanical systems
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer on large-scale residential or mixed-use projects
*
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and building services design
*
Ability to read, interpret, and review M&E drawings and specifications
*
Experience working collaboratively with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders
*
Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills
Desirable
*
Mechanical or Building Services qualification (HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent)
*
Experience delivering London residential projects
*
Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar
*
Knowledge of sustainable building services solutions and energy efficiency standards
