Mechanical Engineer Services for AGUP Phase 2

Project Context
Our client is developing the AGUP Phase 2 project in Iraq, aiming to increase production of the Ratawi oil field to 210 kbopd through the construction of a new CPF and the drilling of 221 wells. This project is carried out in a complex environment with high requirements in terms of safety, quality, and cost optimization.
Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Rotating Equipment Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the engineering activities related to rotating equipment (pumps, compressors) and packages (chemical injection, vapor recovery, air compressors, diesel generator sets) performed by the EPSCC contractor, in order to ensure:
Compliance with technical specifications, HSE standards, and project objectives.
Monitoring and control of engineering deliverables, studies, and responses to technical queries.
Validation of specifications, procurement, testing, and installation of equipment.
Participation in technical evaluations of vendor bids and clarification meetings.
Coordination with other disciplines and operations teams to ensure technical consistency and integration of operability and maintainability requirements.
Contribution to technical reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, 3D review, etc.) and implementation of related actions.
Support in resolving technical issues and during commissioning activities.
Participation in factory inspections and tests (FAT).
Key Activities
Promote safe design principles and integrate HSE requirements.
Manage technical interfaces and design changes.
Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Maintain quality and compliance of deliverables with TotalEnergies standards.
Support procurement and construction teams to ensure continuity between design and execution.
Profile Sought
Education: Mechanical Engineering degree (mandatory). CEng or PE certification is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum 15 years in rotating equipment and packages engineering, ideally in the oil and gas sector.
At least 5 years in a senior client-side role during the detailed design phase.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of standards and practices related to rotating equipment.
Languages: Fluent in English.
Personal Qualities: Excellent communication skills, ability to solve complex problems, collaborative mindset in a multicultural environment.
