The RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established and highly skilled engineering team at a technically advanced, highly regulated site in Cramlington.This role is perfect for a hands-on, mechanically minded engineer who thrives in a varied environment and enjoys taking ownership of maintenance activities. You'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of critical site operations, working across a diverse range of plant and systems.We welcome applications from candidates with any mechanical maintenance background-whether from manufacturing, facilities, forces, industrial, or similar environments-who are looking to develop their skills within a complex and rewarding setting.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical building services systems, including:Steam boilers and steam/condensate systemsChilled water systemsCompressed air systemsPumps and associated plantAir handling units (AHUs)BMS-linked mechanical equipmentYour duties will include:Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance across site assetsDiagnosing faults and completing effective repairsIdentifying opportunities for improvements and remedial worksUpdating maintenance records within the CMMS systemSupporting permit-to-work proceduresSupervising specialist subcontractorsMaintaining accurate compliance and asset documentationSupporting safety inspections and risk assessmentsEnsuring documentation aligns with GxP standards where requiredAbout You You will have experience in a mechanical maintenance or engineering environment and be confident working across multiple systems within a live site.You'll also be:Comfortable working both independently and as part of a teamProactive, reliable, and solutions-focusedExperienced or confident in supervising contractorsA strong communicator with the ability to engage site stakeholdersWilling to participate in a 1-in-4 on-call rotaWhat's on OfferCirca £45,000 salary40-hour working weekStructured 1-in-4 on-call rotaRegular overtime opportunities available to boost earningsOngoing technical training (e.g. confined space, working at height)Exposure to a highly technical and interesting site environmentClear opportunities for career progression within a large engineering operationIf you're a mechanically skilled engineer looking for a stable role with variety, development, and the chance to increase your earnings through overtime, this is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your career.Mechanical Engineer - Cramlington Mechanical Engineer - CramlingtonCalibre Search promote equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified candidates regardless of their sex, race, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
