Mechanical Engineer - Bury St Edmunds
£55,744 Total Package | Shift: 4 on / 4 off

The Role
Keep the plant running. Fix machines when they fail. Prevent breakdowns. Support improvement projects. Work with an experienced engineering team.

You'll Do:

  • Mechanical support on pumps, valves, pneumatics, hydraulics, steam, and some electrical

  • Diagnose faults quickly and resolve them

  • Support equipment upgrades and improvement projects

  • Coach colleagues to avoid repeated mistakes

You'll Have:

  • Completed apprenticeship

  • Engineering qualifications (BTEC, ONC, HNC, or equivalent)

  • Some production/FMCG experience

  • Bench fitting, TIG welding, lathe work

  • Good knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, steam, and electrical systems

  • Methodical fault-finding approach
