Rate: Negotiable dependent on experience

Hybrid: 3 days on site, 2 days from home


POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Mechanical Engineer specialising in subsea connectors, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance, high-reliability engineering solutions suitable for extreme subsea environments.


The role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and materials science to ensure reliability, safety, and innovation in subsea applications. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver advanced connector solutions for the offshore energy and subsea sectors.


With increased experience and seniority, the role will involve taking on additional responsibilities, expanding technical expertise, and supporting the development and mentoring of the wider engineering team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Design and develop subsea connector systems for high-pressure and harsh offshore environments
  • Produce and maintain engineering designs, technical drawings and calculations
  • Support product development, testing and validation activities
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within engineering solutions


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD and FEA tools
  • Ability to produce and interpret technical 2D engineering drawings
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals and calculations
  • Understanding of electrical fundamentals and mechanical-electrical interface design
  • Experience with sealing technologies and pressure-rated designs
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as API, ISO, ASME, IEC and IEEE
