Job Description

Mechanical Estimator\n\nLocation: Central London / Hybrid Working\n Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 (DOE) + Benefits\n Contract: Permanent\n\nOverview\n\nWe are working with a leading London-based engineering contractor who specialise in delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical building services across a wide range of sectors, including commercial fit-outs, residential, healthcare, life sciences and data centres.\n\nDue to continued growth and a strong secured pipeline, they are now looking to appoint a Mechanical Estimator to join their commercial team. This is a key role within the business, where your commercial insight and technical knowledge will directly influence project success and future workload.\n\nRole Responsibilities\n\nPreparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical building services packages from tender through to submission\n\nAnalysing drawings, specifications and tender documentation to identify scope, risk and resource requirements\n\nProducing detailed take-offs for mechanical installations, plant, pipework and associated systems\n\nLiaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and evaluate quotations\n\nSupporting value engineering initiatives to improve competitiveness and margin\n\nIdentifying commercial risks and pricing accordingly\n\nWorking closely with project managers and pre-construction teams\n\nContributing to bid strategy and tender reviews\n\nRequirements\n\nProven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within an M&E or building services contractor\n\nStrong understanding of HVAC, pipework and mechanical plant\n\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications\n\nCommercially aware with strong numerical and analytical skills\n\nConfident communicator with the ability to liaise with supply chain and internal teams\n\nExperience using estimating software and Microsoft Office\n\nPackage & Benefits\n\n£65,000 - £75,000 basic salary (DOE)\n\nHybrid working arrangement\n\nPension scheme\n\nHealthcare benefits\n\nStructured progression opportunities\n\nStrong pipeline of secured projects\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Estimator looking to join a growing, well-established engineering contractor with a diverse and technically challenging project portfolio.\n\nIf you would like to discuss the role in more detail, please get in touch
