The Opportunity
An established and growing building services contractor is looking to strengthen its commercial team with the appointment of a Mechanical Estimator. This is a key role within the business, focused on securing and delivering high-quality commercial projects across a range of sectors.
The Role
As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders, working closely with internal teams and external clients. You'll play a vital role in developing new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate mechanical tenders and quotations
- Review specifications, drawings, and project requirements
- Develop client relationships and identify new tender opportunities
- Collaborate with delivery and commercial teams throughout the bid process
- Value engineer solutions to ensure competitiveness and efficiency
- Manage tender submissions to tight deadlines
- Attend client and site meetings where required
- Support contract handover and ongoing commercial activities
About You
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within building services
- Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical installations
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience working on commercial projects
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and public health systems
- Knowledge of current industry regulations and standards
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office
