Are you a Mechanical Fitter or similar looking to join a leading global pump hire company, gain full diesel engine training, and work within a tight-knit team in a varied role split between workshop and field work, Monday to Friday?

This established provider of pumping solutions supplies high-performance pump hire equipment and engineered fluid handling systems to the construction, utilities, mining, and industrial sectors. Their equipment supports critical applications including dewatering, wastewater management, and flood control, with a strong focus on reliability, efficiency, and operational support for customers across the UK.

The role offers a 50/50 split between depot-based workshop work and field service across the North West. In the workshop, you will be involved in inspecting, preparing, servicing, and repairing pump hire equipment to ensure it is ready for deployment. In the field, you will support customers with installation, servicing, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance of pump systems on site. Full training will be provided, including diesel engines and specialist pump systems, allowing you to develop into a highly skilled engineer within the industry.

This position would suit a mechanically minded engineer or fitter who is keen to develop their technical expertise, gain specialist training, and build a long-term career with progression opportunities and overtime availability.

The Role

• Service, maintain, and repair pumping equipment
• 50/50 split between workshop and field-based work
• Prepare, inspect, and test pump hire equipment at the depot
• Support installation and maintenance at customer sites
• Carry out basic fault finding and mechanical repairs
• Participate in an on-call rota (1 in 3 weeks)
• North West patch, working 8:00am - 4:30pm

The Person

• Mechanical engineering, plant, or fitting background
• Keen to train and develop skills on diesel engines and pump systems
• Able to diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs
• Full UK driving licence
• Commutable to Wigan
