Mechanical Fitter / Fabricator (with Welding Experience)

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter / Fabricator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical installations, maintenance, repair work, fabrication, and welding. This role involves working on a variety of projects and requires flexibility and a willingness to travel to different sites as needed. Key Responsibilities: Install, assemble, and maintain mechanical systems, equipment and machinery. Carry out fabrication and welding tasks (MIG/TIG/Stick) to a high standard. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly and effectively. Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment reliability. Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings and specifications. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to complete projects on time. Maintain safe working practices in line with company and industry standards. Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism on all assignments. Qualifications and Skills: Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Fitting (e.g., NVQ Level 3). Proven experience as a mechanical fitter/fabricator in a commercial or industrial setting. Demonstrable welding skills (MIG/TIG/Stick), with knowledge of welding safety and techniques. Proficiency with hand and power tools, and confidence in working with a variety of mechanical equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Valid CSCS card or equivalent. Full UK driving license. Excellent understanding of health & safety procedures and legal regulations.
