Excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join a leading research facility offering an outstanding working environment alongside structured training and long-term development.
This organisation is part of a renowned scientific research group, operating across multiple sites and supporting world-leading research. Due to continued investment, they are looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join their Estates and Facilities team.
In this role, you'll begin by carrying out general mechanical maintenance duties across the site, supporting day-to-day upkeep, inspections, and minor repairs. With ongoing training, you'll progressively take on more responsibility, moving into a position where you deliver planned and reactive maintenance across a variety of plant and building systems including HVAC, pumps, pipework, and associated mechanical infrastructure.
You'll also gain exposure to monitoring systems via the Building Management System (BMS), helping ensure the efficient and reliable operation of facilities. In time, you'll join an on-call rota (approximately 6-8 weeks per year) to support 24/7 operational readiness.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Engineer with a recognised qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar. You'll be motivated to learn, develop your technical skills, and take on new challenges. Candidates who have recently completed their apprenticeship are encouraged to apply.
