The Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a key role in the assembly, build and installation of bespoke converting and packaging machinery. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering environment working on technically advanced equipment.
Commutable from: Leicester, Wigston, Oadby, Loughborough, Coalville, Hinckley, Syston, Melton Mowbray, Market Harborough, Coventry, Thurmaston, Markfield
Key Responsibilities
*
Mechanical assembly of semi and fully automatic converting machinery
*
Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
*
Building sub-assemblies and full machine builds to high standards
*
Installing mechanical components, including drives, rollers, bearings, pneumatics and structural frames
*
Assisting with machine testing and commissioning
*
Working collaboratively with design and electrical teams
*
Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards
Candidate Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Machine Builder
*
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
*
Experience working with bespoke or special-purpose machinery (desirable)
*
Good understanding of mechanical systems, pneumatics and assembly processes
*
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
*
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*
Flexible and proactive approach
