Clydach, Swansea | £36,612-£38,764 per annum + overtime + 10% annual bonus | Full time | Monday to Friday + on-call rota | Ongoing contract

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting Mechanical Maintenance Technicians on behalf of our prestigious client, Vale Europe, for ongoing positions at their world-renowned Mond Nickel Refinery in Clydach, Swansea.

Owned and operated by Vale Europe, part of one of the largest global mining companies, this is a fantastic opportunity to work in a stable, safety-driven, and world-class engineering environment.

Key Duties

Perform scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance.

Respond to plant breakdowns during working hours and as part of an on-call rota.

Work with a wide range of mechanical systems and equipment including pumps, motors, conveyors, belts, and drives.

Machine basic engineering parts using lathes, milling machines, and centre bores.

Maintain a strong focus on health and safety compliance.

Wear Breathing Apparatus and work in confined spaces or at height, as required.

Requirements

Completed a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.

Demonstrable experience in a heavy industry or manufacturing environment.

In-depth knowledge of rotational and mechanical equipment.

Competent in basic machining operations.

CCNSG Site Safety Passport (essential).

Full UK driving licence.

Willingness and ability to work in confined spaces and at height.

Flexible to participate in an on-call rota.

What We Offer

Starting salary: £36,612 per annum, rising to £38,764 after initial training period.

Enhanced overtime rates (paid at 1.75x).

10% annual performance bonus.
