The Role

We are looking to recruit a Mechanically skilled Technician to join the Fuel Shop operation based at Burton upon Trent. This is a hands‑on technical role focused on the inspection, installation, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of fuel systems and associated test equipment within a highly regulated engineering environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring fuel systems and components meet quality, safety and performance standards, while contributing positively to team performance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and diagnose fuel system issues related to engine testing.
Install, inspect and repair fuel systems and associated components.
Carry out fuel pump and injector testing, reporting results accurately.
Audit and maintain fuel pump and injector test equipment.
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on test rigs and associated machinery.
Ensure all tasks are completed safely, accurately and within agreed timeframes.
Essential:

Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven engineering environment.
Good working knowledge of fuel system components, including pumps and injectors.
Ability to work on own initiative while also contributing positively within a team.
Strong communication skills with a friendly and professional approach.
Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
Desirable:

Previous experience within the rail or automotive industry.
Experience working in a regulated or safety‑critical environment.
