Mechanical Lead Engineer Stratford £50,000 - £51,000

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Lead Engineer to join a large, modern mixed-use development in Stratford. The site comprises commercial office space, educational facilities, and studio environments, providing a technically diverse and engaging working environment.

This is a long-term, secure contract with an established building services provider. The position sits on the Landlord side of the contract, working within a team of 9 engineers (with a separate tenant-side team of 3 engineers). This role will act as the mechanical lead within that team.

The Role As Mechanical Lead Engineer, you will take technical responsibility for the mechanical plant across the landlord areas, supporting the engineering team and acting as the go-to engineer on shift. Lead and oversee mechanical maintenance activities on site Carry out PPMs and reactive works Provide technical support and guidance to the engineering team Ensure statutory compliance and adherence to safe systems of work Oversee subcontractors when required Maintain accurate logbooks and reporting Act as point of contact during your shift Requirements NVQ / City & Guilds Level 2/3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) Strong background in commercial building services Proven experience fault-finding on mechanical systems Previous lead / supervisory experience preferred Strong understanding of compliance and health & safety Package & Benefits Salary up to £51,000 25 Days annual leave + Bank holidays 1 in 8 call out (£100 standby) Monday to Friday split shift (7am - 4pm 10am -7pm) Overtime available every weekend (optional) Long-term contract stability Free shuttle bus from Stratford station to site every 5 minutes If you are an experienced Mechanical Engineer ready to step into a Lead role or an established Lead Engineer looking for a stable Monday to Friday position apply today for a confidential discussion
