    Are you a proactive and skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking to make a real impact? Our client, a reputable organisation in Birstsal, is hiring for a dedicated professional to join their engineering team.     What you'll be doing:
    * Carry out frequency-based Preventive Maintenance plans across all site areas, ensuring compliance with site standards and rectifying any issues found.
    * Diagnose breakdown causes and perform repairs efficiently to minimise downtime and keep production running smoothly.
    * Install new equipment in line with organisational and regulatory standards, and contribute to project plans for new installations.
    * Suggest modifications and improvements to equipment, plant, and processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
    * Calibrate instrumentation such as weighing systems, flow control devices, and level indicators to ensure accurate operation.
    * Provide technical advice, training, and support to managers, supervisors, staff, and external contractors regarding electrical and mechanical systems.
    * Maintain a clean and organised workshop and plant areas through effective 5S practices and housekeeping.
    * Contribute to business process improvements by monitoring equipment performance trends related to efficiency, quality, and waste.
    * Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests to reduce machinery downtime and minimise impact on production.
    What you'll bring:
    * Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment installation, and calibration.
    * Ability to diagnose faults quickly and perform effective repairs.
    * Experience in implementing preventive and reactive maintenance strategies.
    * Good understanding of electrical and mechanical safety standards and regulations.

    Required skills and qualifications:
    * Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
