Job Description
Mechanical EngineerSalary: £35,000-£41,000 per annumLocation: CambridgeContract: Full-time, PermanentAbout the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join the team, supporting the effective operation, maintenance, and development of a diverse and historic property portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the long-term sustainability, resilience, and performance of complex building systems within a dynamic and evolving estate.Key Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise on mechanical building services across a wide range of facilities. Lead on the planning, design, and delivery of mechanical engineering projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practice. Carry out assessments, surveys, and inspections to monitor asset condition and performance. Support the development of maintenance strategies and the management of planned and reactive works. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external consultants, and contractors to ensure efficient project delivery. Contribute to sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency improvements and carbon-reduction planning.
About YouYou will bring strong technical competence, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. You should have:
A recognised relevant qualification Proven experience in building services engineering or estates-related environments. Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and best practice in mechanical services and asset management. Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
