Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

An established UK manufacturer is looking to add an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to its site engineering team. The role focuses on maintaining plant and facilities to a high standard, reducing downtime, and supporting safe, efficient production operations.
Key responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across plant and site facilities
Reduce equipment downtime while maintaining high safety and housekeeping standards
Support the ongoing improvement of machinery reliability and site performance
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety and environmental standards
Record and close maintenance tasks accurately using a computerised maintenance system
Work closely with production, engineering and support teams across the site
Assist with engineering improvements and cost-effective repair solutions
Contribute to achieving site targets for output, quality and safetyRequirements
Time served mechanical apprenticeship
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
Strong mechanical fault-finding capability
Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Exposure to TPM and planned preventative maintenance systems
Good awareness of health, safety and environmental practices
Comfortable supporting others within a team environment
Confident using IT systems for reporting and documentation
Welding experience, MIG and MMA
Previous experience in a senior or lead maintenance capacity
