Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Sheffield\n\nStafforce Recruitment are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded steel manufacturing business based in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a large, heavy industrial site offering long-term stability, strong earning potential and a structured shift pattern.\n\nShift Pattern: 4 on 4 off - 12-hour days and nights (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am)\n\nSalary: £46,000 per annum\n\nThe Role\n\nWorking as part of the site engineering function, you'll support the mechanical maintenance requirements of a busy steel manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on role with exposure to a wide range of plant and equipment.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\nAttending mechanical breakdowns and diagnosing faults across varied plant and equipment\nSupporting operations across steelmaking, casting and finishing areas when required\nUsing mobile plant to assist engineering and operational activities\nResponding to first-line maintenance issues, carrying out safe and effective repairs\nCompleting planned maintenance tasks and contributing to continuous improvement of maintenance schedules\nEnsuring all health & safety procedures, documentation and PPE requirements are strictly followed\nKeeping systems such as Agility up to date and ensuring clear handovers to the oncoming shift\n\nAbout You\n\nTo be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:\n\nPrevious experience within a heavy industrial or manufacturing engineering environment\nApprentice-trained or time-served Mechanical Engineer / Fitter background\nExperience of both preventative and reactive maintenance\nA proactive, enthusiastic and self-motivated approach\nThe ability to work independently or as part of a wider engineering team\nStrong communication skills to liaise with engineers, operators and shift management\nA solid understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements\nProven fault-finding and problem-solving skillsIf you're a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking for your next move within heavy manufacturing, we'd like to hear from you.
