We offer a stable working environment where your contribution is recognised and opportunities to develop and progress are encouraged.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will:Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant and equipmentDiagnose mechanical faults and complete effective repairs to minimise downtimeConduct routine inspections and servicing of plant machineryWork closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability and productivityMaintain accurate maintenance and repair recordsEnsure compliance with health & safety regulations, company policies, and safe systems of workIdentify and contribute to continuous improvement opportunitiesAssist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment in line with engineering drawingsStrip, inspect, repair, and rebuild mechanical assemblies including:GearboxesPumpsMotorsConveyorsBearings and shaftsLiaise with external contractors when requiredMaintain high housekeeping standardsWhat We're Looking ForYou'll ideally have:Proven experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environmentStrong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skillsExperience with hydraulics and pneumaticsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematicsA recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent) in Mechanical EngineeringExperience working with LOTO, permits, RAMS, and risk assessmentsA flexible and adaptable approach to changing production demandsStrong attention to detail and quality of workGood communication and teamwork skillsWillingness to work shifts, overtime, and respond to callouts when requiredWhat You Can ExpectIn return, we offer a competitive and supportive package including:Generous pension scheme26 days holiday + bank holidaysHealthcare Cash Plan (dental & optical claims)Life AssuranceOngoing training and continuous developmentStrong focus on internal progressionCycle to Work SchemeFree on-site parkingRecommend-a-friend reward schemeLocal transport linksA Place Where Everyone Can ThriveIKO is committed to creating an inclusive and respectful workplace.
